Renters: Eligibility Criteria

  • If you are living in the City of Melbourne under a rental agreement, you are eligible to vote in the 2024 Council elections. Non-citizens can submit a form to enrol to vote.
  • Up to two renters under a rental agreement are permitted to be enrolled per property. Each person gets one vote.

Complete Form D – Enrolment Application from Property Occupier to register your enrolment. The form is available as a printable version (PDF) or as a Word document (DOCX).

Complete Form J – Request to Vary Non-Resident Occupier Enrolment to change the enrolment for your rental. The form is available as a printable version (PDF) or as a Word document (DOCX).[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

International Students (Eligibility criteria)

  • If you are an international student, you can vote. You do not need to be a citizen. You just need to rent a house or apartment in the City of Melbourne under a signed rental agreement and have lived there for one month or more.
  • Up to two renters under a rental agreement are permitted to be enrolled per property. Each person is allowed one vote.
